A Frog Plays Piano
What makes something ‘alive’? And what makes somebody feel alive?
An old man named Daniel talks about life and death, imagination and the role of friendship.
A Frog Plays Piano portrays Daniel and his best friend reflecting on these questions in a lucid, analog and imaginary way.
What Remains
The documentary introduces us to Laura Veraguas, a culinary rebel who transformed Barcelona’s dining landscape before embarking on her own bold venture with Andrea. Together, the duo has redefined high-end catering, creating exquisite dishes for elite clients – but with a twist.
Forget lobster and oysters; Laura serves up luxury in its purest form – with a simple carrot, a leek, or a perfectly ripened tomato. Her work challenges conventional definitions of luxury, proving that true indulgence lies in the beauty of simplicity.
Laura and Andrea’s journey transcends the kitchen, as they push boundaries in Spain’s culinary scene. Working hand-in-hand with local farmers, they champion sustainability and celebrate the authentic flavors of nature. At the same time, they’re unafraid to challenge the patriarchy that still dominates fine dining, using their platform to advocate for gender equality and culinary creativity.
Ver Aguas is more than a company – it’s a manifesto of defiance, innovation, and the power of food. Born from the passion and partnership of Laura and Andrea, the company reflects their shared commitment to equality, flavor and social change.
Head up, Honey: A Story About Healing
Belgium, 2022. Head up, Honey is a story about the basic human needs to be seen, valued and heard. And a woman whose life changed completely 10 years ago by a chance meeting with a professional skateboarder at a very turbulent and difficult time in her life.
It reminds us that in our complex digitized societies, a sense of community, appreciation, physical movement, playfulness , and help can be healing and make people flourish.
Veerle makes us reimagine what it means to be a skateboarder in 2022. A time when skateboarding is in a very inclusive phase of its history, where all kinds of styles, tricks, levels and backgrounds are accepted. Moving away from one style and from a dominated and rebellious life to an inclusive, non-competitive activity, with a focus on mental health and the healing potential of something as mundane as pushing a plank of wood on wheels. A story about hope, redemption and gratitude.
Unicorns can Skate
2 young sisters live and play together, they help each other. Even though Hana went through serious surgery and had to relearn how to walk, they take the challenge up to go skateboarding. With her speech computer Hana tells us what her sister means to her, and with her skateboard she shows us what skateboarding can do for her in her young life.
The sisterhood between Hannah and April shows that friendship, mutual care and support have nothing to do with differences in physical or mental abilities. It allows them to take on challenges together.
The sisters make us reimagine what it means to be a skateboarder in 2022. A time in which skateboarding finds itself in a very inclusive phase in its history, in which all kinds of styles, tricks, levels and backgrounds are accepted. The focus on what skateboarding means to these two young girls in terms of confidence, acceptance, and community during their weekly lessons with the social skateboarding project ‘Niña Skates’ reframes what it means to be a skateboarder in 2022 from a male dominated lifestyle to an inclusive activity with a focus on (mental) health benefits.Hannah and April’s participation in this ‘extreme sport’ builds an inspiring argument for inclusive participation in other areas of leisure. An emotional and beautiful tribute to mutual support.
